A sympathetic renovation to a midcentury classic, the architect selected a warm minimal material palette that honoured the homes past and helped breathe life into its future.

Suave polished plaster in Whitford White was selected as the finish and applied to walls and joinery in the newly added master bedroom, where the textured surfaces blend seamlessly from walls to wardrobe.

Extending through the bedroom portal the Suave finish continues into open plan living space via the kitchen cabinetry. The textured finish on the kitchen joinery blurring the line between functional work surfaces and decorative sideboards, creating an inviting and warm space to eat and socialise with friends and family.

To increase the longevity of the rendered surfaces on the joinery, all were coated with a clear matte sealer to help protect against body oils, natural wear and tear and to aid in cleaning, ensuring the finish will maintain its beauty over time.
